Legal & HR Director; Company: Crown Services Management LLP;

Crown House, 855 London Road, Grays, Essex  RM20 3LG;

Reports To: Senior Partner and Chairman;

Working Hours: Hours of work will be dictated by the requirements of the job role. Usual working pattern will be 08.30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday with ½ hour lunch break;

Purpose of Job: To undertake and be responsible for all legal and HR issues within the Crown Partnership and management of legal and HR team. 
 
Responsibilities 
 
 Credit Control:  Manage pursue and enforce all credit control issues within the Partnership speedily and efficiently.  Issue proceedings against debtors and follow the same through to Court proceedings if necessary; 
 
 Contract Advice:  Advice in connection with all contracts being entered into by the Partnership and highlight points of concern and suggest amendments in order to protect the interest of the company; 
 
 Contract Drafting:  Drafting commercial contracts for use by the Partnership;     Court Proceedings:  Responding to and initiating Court proceedings in connection with all disputes involving the Partnership.  Instructing Counsel when necessary and obtaining advice.  Preparing for Court hearings and all steps leading up to the same; 
 
 Company Secretary Duties:  Undertaking all company secretarial duties for the Partnership including updating Company House records, filing Confirmation Statements and ensuring all records are up to date; 
 
 Commercial Property:  Advising in connection with all internal leases and the drafting of the same and where necessary instructing outside solicitors in order to undertake the same on behalf of the Partnership; 
 
 HR Management:  Ensuring that recruiting, on boarding, off boarding, sickness, maternity, paternity and training is managed for the whole of the Partnership by the HR team speedily and efficiently.  Managing the HR and legal team; 
 
 HR Advice:  Providing advice to the whole of the Partnership on redundancy, restructuring, grievances disciplinaries and any or all other advice which may be required.  Assisting in the drafting of invite and decision letters and organising appeals and hearings; 

   HR Litigation:  Responding to all Tribunal claims in a timely manner, dealing with ACAS and third parties and thereafter if applicable undertaking the preparation of Tribunal claims up to final hearings including instructing Counsel; 
 
 Reporting:  Ensuring that senior management are updated regularly in connection with all matters on a regular basis and also providing advice on the management of HR and legal generally. 
 
Skills 
 
 Effectively communicate with all stakeholders, thus ensuring that any queries they have whether legal, contractual or HR related are satisfactorily dealt with; 
 
 Create and implement employee relations policies and update them in order to ensure that the Partnership is compliant with all statutory and contractual requirements; 
 
 Excellent leadership and planning skills; 
 
 Excellent motivational and organisational skills with commercial awareness and good interpersonal skills; 
 
 Strong understanding of the work of a legal practice and HR functions; 
 
 Experience as a solicitor and HR manager in a leadership position.
