• Reports to: Regulatory Partner
• Previous experience: Excellent academics and a proven background in regulatory work from a financial services capacity. This could be advising banks and other financial services institutions as well as fintech companies and investment funds.

TWO KEY ELEMENTS TO THE ROLE

First and foremost, our client is looking for an ambitious financial services regulatory associate or senior associate with proven technical ability. You may have gained your experience advising banks in relation to retail regulatory aspects such as consumer credit, mortgages and other consumer-based products. Alternatively, you may have experience of more niche areas such as Fintech and crypto currencies. Either way, we could be interested in hearing from you.

Our client is ideally looking for those with a non-contentious / advisory background from one of the leading national firms. That said, they do not wish to unduly limit the scope of potential candidates. Provided applicants demonstrate the right aptitude, they will also be considered.

The second element to the role relates to the firm's continuing investment in IT and 'law tech' as they continue to be pioneers in evolving legal services and the way they interact with their clients.

AN EXPECTATION TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY

As well as a strong background advising financial services clients, this law firm is looking for someone who is ready to embrace technology and work with the firm's growing law tech team as it seeks to improve the way legal services are delivered to clients.

Whilst this may not affect the nature of the advice given, it should be stressed that this part of the aspect of the role forms an important strategic element of the overall position. The work of the technology team is being promoted externally to clients as well as internally to colleagues of the firm and it is crucial that applicants are invested in further taking this forward.
