Commercial/Corporate Legal Counsel – UK-Headquartered Asset Manager – 12 months – Up to £600/day

The Client

A UK-headquartered asset management firm is looking for a commercial/corporate lawyer to join on a 12 month contract. The small team has a professional and collegiate culture, working reasonable hours in Central London. Being a small team will allow you to conduct a wider variety of work compared to larger competitors and become a more fully-rounded lawyer, whilst increasing the level of autonomy you’re provided.

The Role

Examples of responsibilities include:

• Supporting on a wide variety of BAU work;
• Drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts;
• Overseeing any corporate/M&A work;
• Working on other issues relating to the Asset Manager, particularly concerning funds; and
• Collaborating with other members of the legal team on broader matters you have experience in.

About You

You should:

• Have top law firm training (magic/silver circle or white shoe);
• Have in-house experience (desirable, not essential);
• Have strong drafting skills;
• Be a UK qualified lawyer, with 4-8PQE;
• Be available to start September.

This role is ideal for someone looking to work on interesting and high quality work, adding a well-respected name to their CV. If your notice period is negotiable this could work for someone who is currently permanent and looking to transition in-house without committing to one organisation from the start.
