Job Details
The firm has attracted some very exciting teams and is a very well regarded law firm brand, both in terms of quality but also as a great place to work. In the US the firm has an award winning and directories listed corporate team – M&A, Corporate Finance and Private Equity.
The firm is concentrating on internationalisation and there is a good story in terms of why lawyers should join this US firm. The managing partner realises that good lateral partners have a choice and the brand of US headquartered firms often does not export from the States to London. Hence the London office has devised a clear strategy which means the brand is strong within pockets of excellence. The firm has also concentrated on ‘being good at recruitment’.
The London office is almost full service and the sectors which the firm is known for are financial services and real estate. Within those sectors there are number of household name clients, there are some interesting high net worth (as individuals and as part of an asset management practice) clients and hotels clients.
The platform will suit a corporate partner with mid-level corporate clients who prefer partner contact and flexibility on rates. Ideally your practice will mirror the firms sectors and there will be support you would normally require – tax, employment, IP, regulatory and finance. The culture is more of a can-do / start-up approach, the lawyers are work winners in their own right but there are a number of internal referrals which need servicing and a personal proactive approach is preferred.
