In-House Role- Director - EMEA Lending and Payments - 10+ PQE -Financial Services Institution -

My client is a leading financial institution looking to hire a legal Director into the EMEA Lending Payments team on a permanent basis. The role will involve providing legal advice to the bank on complex cross-border lending transactions (both secured and unsecured).
 
Responsibilities of the role:

• Managing the LOBs lawyers in EMEA outside the UK.
• Leading, developing and inspiring a team of experienced lawyers who partner with the relevant businesses in EMEA to execute their strategy.
• Keeping other Legal Department and line of business colleagues updated on EMEA legal developments and their impact on the bank's businesses. 
• Consulting with and advising senior clients and representing the bank in dealing with others inside and outside the organization, as appropriate.

A strong candidate will have:

• 10+ years post qualification experience in-house or in private practice. 
• Expert technical knowledge of the relevant EMEA markets and products as well as the relevant laws across the EMEA region (both secured and unsecured), insolvency, etc.);
• Proven experience interacting with and presenting to senior executive legal and business management, regulators or other internal or external stakeholders.
• Enterprise-level experience supporting corporate regulatory and corporate risk issues, and working with broad and executive-level committees
• Duly qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in England, the United States, other common-law or European jurisdiction(s);
