LICENSING LITIGATION - LEEDS (RETRAIN OPPORTUNITY)

This boutique but nationally known law firm is looking to appoint a Solicitor at NQ-4yrsPQE for a broad mix of High Court litigation and regulatory work some of which enjoys media profile.

Acting for a very broad client base (from very prominent high street names, to individuals and business owners) which is spread across the entirety of the UK, this firm punches hard for their size and enjoys referral relationships with national firms and a significant footprint in London. September 2019 NQs will be considered on their merits as the firm does not have an internal Trainee and so are free to appoint an external candidate who they'll then train up in the intricacies of Licensing and Regulatory work for leisure sector clients.

Working closely with the partners you will assist on large High Court litigation, and whilst the role is Leeds based you will be required to attend clients in various locations and so travel will be a regular part of this role. Suitable candidates will be ambitious and resourceful and will have a decent background in commercial disputes, regulatory litigation or possibly even criminal defence acting for private or commercial clients.

You need to be organised and to enjoy a range of work which will test you but in this firm you will become an expert in your niche field and you will enjoy learning from market leaders. Advocacy can be part of this role if that is something a lawyer wants but it is not essential at this stage.

Client contact is expected from the outset and so you'll need self confidence and a sociable disposition as this firm enjoys close relationships and works hard at preserving those. This is not a role for a lawyer who wants to be purely office based or who doesn't enjoy marketing and social interaction!

Prospects going forward are good as this firm wants to create more partners and to involve people in the business for the long term. A fantastic opportunity with a vibrant firm in a buoyant and interesting sector.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
