Commercial, Technology or Regulatory Lawyer, FinTech Start-Up

A very new business with the backing of a substantial name in the industry is currently looking for their number 2 in the legal department. With the launch of a new and innovative business tool and financing app, designed to make life simpler for smaller and entrepreneurial businesses, you will be expected to adjust your mindset to enable creativity as the business develops. You will work closely with the Head of Legal and Compliance on all legal matters and must be prepared to turn your hand to new areas, sometimes outside of pure legal work. Day to day duties will including drafting commercial and technology agreements, maintaining terms, company training and advising on regulatory change – in particular, in relation to financial services, payments and data. More bespoke work will include working on innovation projects, industry developments and market updates to help keep the business ahead of the curve.

Suitable applicants could come from a number of private practice departments but should have had some exposure to financial services and technology. We are looking for someone around the 2-3 year qualified level but other applicants with suitable experience will be considered.
