THE BUSINESS
My client is an international business, with and extensive history and pedigree, and operations spanning the globe. They have an established legal / contracts team and are based in pleasant offices in Leeds.
THE OPPORTUNITY
They are now looking to hire an in house legal contracts paralegal to join their well established team, to review and negotiate commercial contracts, and provide pro-active assistance to the operational part of business. You'll undertake contract reviews in accordance with their governance policy, provide ad-hoc advice to project managers, and liaise with business teams across the firm to resolve contractual queries.
The sort of documents on which you will advise includes, contracts, confidentiality agreements, tender documents, collateral warranties, framework agreements and purchase orders. You'll also promote risk management throughout the business, liaise with PII brokers to respond to queries, and increase awareness and maintain compliance with risk management.
ABOUT YOU
We are ideally looking for an individual who possesses at least a year's experience of working with various contract types and/or a legal qualification. You'll also need good communication skills, and be self-motivated, pro-active and resilient. Additionally, you'll need to have a good degree, an LPC or similar legal training, an ability to manage yourself well, strong communication skills, and desire to work in a business environment, as opposed to a law firm.
Incidentally whilst the preference is for an individual with some contracts experience, they do occasionally recruit individuals who do not yet have contracts experience, but are willing to be trained into that role. It can be a good first step for someone looking to progress their career in a commercial / contracts / in house direction, as a opposed to one in personal injury litigation or conveyancing. Remuneration is likely to be in the region of £23,000 to £32,000 depending on experience
