In House – Head of Legal Services - Senior Commercial Legal Counsel - Commercial Property and Construction - 6+ pqe Birmingham

Our client is a leading construction and regeneration business. Its Housing arm works in partnerships with local authorities and housing associations on matters such as house building developments, maintenance and refurbishments.

This is a new key role for a senior commercial lawyer who is committed to driving a growing business forward whilst providing legal, risk, commercial and strategic expertise to the management. Candidates will have worked in-house or within a reputed private practice construction or property team and have knowledge of all aspects of commercial property, leases, licenses and plot sales. Experience of contentious insurance matters as well as non-contentious construction projects and sub-contract forms of contract would be an advantage.

As Head of Legal Services ,the role will involve advising on compliance issues, working with bid teams, managing external legal advisers, negotiating construction documentation as well as offering strategic and legal business advice. Initially, a sole legal counsel position, but going forward there will be the opportunity to grow out a wider legal team.
