Job Details
Fabulous opportunity to join an ambitious insurance business which is growing in London. Reporting into the Group General Counsel, the successful applicant will be a key contact point in the Legal department, responsible for supporting the business in relation to legal matters, including corporate transactional work and secondary support for drafting and reviewing re-insurance wordings and insurance related transactions. Along with the established compliance team, the applicant will assist with maintaining the corporate governance structure, managing the legal risk and reporting back to the board. The successful candidate will not only work closely with a number of departments across the business but will also be responsible for maintaining a number of external relationships including instructing external counsel and communicating with external regulators.
The applicant will need to be commercially aware and a team player as well as able to work alone, use initiative and make decisions. They should be confident in dealing with senior management across the business and have the required skills to grow a team and manage if and when the need arises.

This position would best suit someone over the 4 year PQE mark who has prior experience in corporate transactional work and have familiarity with the UK Insurance Market and ideally with Lloyds processes and practices. Good academics and training are a must and the high level of responsibility and autonomy will require someone who is pro-active, organised and intuitive.
