This commercially focused City law firm has long been known for its bench strength and interest in technology and is now committed to deepening its offering further in the areas of data protection and commercial technology. 

The firm has a true sector focus in all areas of technology - advising businesses ranging from multiple FTSE 100/250 and Global Fortune 500 companies to fast growing VC companies and start-ups. The data protection practice has long been regarded as a successful and growing team acting for a wide range of multinational corporates, plcs, financial institutions in areas including financial services, retail, marketing and consumer goods, amongst others, advising on the full range of UK and EU data protection law.
They advise their clients on handling data compliance issues, cross-border data transfers, GDPR, cybersecurity, apps, big data, data breach notifications, data policies, data protection disputes, rolling out multi-jurisdictional projects and data issues, FOI requests, amongst others.

The team is busy and growing and there is now a particular need for a senior lawyer at partner level, to join the practice. This may be either someone wanting immediate partnership, an established partner, or an in-house lawyer wishing to move to private practice to take partnership. Crucial to this position is the requirement for a key focus to be on data protection, although there is the ability to also undertake general commercial technology work too. 

Given the upwards trajectory of the firm and the team, the successful person must be client facing and have the ability to attract clients and work (being well connected or demonstrably being able to show how they would attract work), to take the team to the next level and build further the practice. This is not a role for a pure technician, but an all round lawyer who enjoys meeting and developing a client base and building relationships internally to harness the myriad of potential clients from the firm which exist.
