Prosecutions Lawyer

LAW Absolute are working with a local authority based in East London who are looking for a Senior Prosecutions Lawyer for three months initially.

The successful Prosecutions Lawyer will be required to have experience of the full range of enforcement matters and non-routine criminal proceedings matters. Your caseload will include matters relating to benefit fraud, food safety, health and safety issues and fly tipping.

It would be advantageous if you also possess a good working knowledge of Alcohol Licensing Law . Alongside experience in the areas mentioned above, you will be required to have conduct of magistrates court cases including advocacy, provide advice to clients either written or by telephone on general enforcement issues and demonstrate a high standard of client care. It is essential that you have experience in licensing law as you will be required to act as legal advisor at evening Licensing Sub-committee meetings.

Our client is based a short walk from the station and offers a friendly and supportive team environment. Previous experience of carrying a caseload of this nature is required.
