THE ROLE
A role has arisen for a Solicitor to join the Legal Services team.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will undertake a range of legal services including:
Management of the legal review of a full range of contracts, licences and ad hoc agreements.
Supporting the development of and drafting compliance related polices, reviewing and incorporating relevant legislation.
Providing, practical, robust and comprehensive legal advice and assistance to the University in respect of its activities as required.
ABOUT YOU
With circa 2-5pqe, your experience should include the ability to:
Draft, review, and amend various contracts, including but not limited to commercial contracts, research and collaboration agreements, terms and conditions for purchase goods and services, NDAs, software and publisher licences and ad hoc agreements; and to liaise with and advise the contract owner to ensure that financial, legal and reputational risks are managed effectively in a timely manner.
Maintain an overview of the requirements for key areas of the University's business such as academic partnerships and maintain appropriate templates.
Assist in developing and maintaining the University's repository of contracts and licences.
Your relevant post-qualification experience may have been gained at a law firm or in an in-house environment.
Previous experience of dealing with higher education legal matters would be an advantage.
