Head of Legal - Infrastructure & Energy Fund

Our client is an investment management business headquartered in London. The business focusses on investing in and/or acquiring infrastructure assets, predominantly in the renewable energy sector.
The business owns and operates a variety of renewable energy projects across the UK and in to continental Europe. They are one of the UK’s largest independent investors in UK and European renewable energy projects
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will work closely with senior management as well as the board to provide commercial and legal support in relation to all aspects of the fund, including; strategy, business development, JV’s & partnerships, financing arrangements, renewable energy projects and other commercial transactions.
You will be responsible for a team of junior lawyers who will assist you on all of the above. The successful candidate will also be responsible for liaising and engaging external legal support where necessary.
You will be common law qualified, with at least 8 years of PQE, most or all of which should have been working within a leading law firm, energy/infrastructure organisation or fund.
The experience you’ve gained would ideally be within the energy/infrastructure projects space, covering project development and financing as well as some M&A.
Ability to provide commercial advice and to make commercial decisions is key to this role as is an ability to interact successfully with a variety of different colleagues, both lawyers and the business team.
