Your new company
A city-based firm with a long-established history, who provide legal services throughout the United Kingdom. They act for a range of clients including private and public companies, developers, local authorities, funders and regulators but in particular they act for a significant number of Registered Providers who deal in social housing associations. As a full-service firm, they are specialists in civil litigation, employment, commercial/ corporate and construction. There is now a need for a permanent Paralegal to join the Property Litigation and Housing Management Department.
Your new role
Your responsibilities will fall into two areas including assisting fee-earners in legal court related work and legal administrative work in support of the Property Litigation and Housing Management team. You will be responsible for drafting reports and preparing claim forms, pleadings and witness statements for the County Court. You will additionally assist solicitors and other fee earners in the day to day running of files, attend Court to assist Barristers and other fee-earners and prepare trial bundles.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will hold a minimum 2:2 degree in Law (or an appropriate conversion) and have successfully completed the LPC / are currently studying. You will have previous Housing Management or Property litigation experience. You should possess solid drafting skills and experience of drafting reports and have confidence in preparing pleading and witness statements for the Court. You should have excellent administration and organisational skills, inducing diary management and good time keeping. Finally, you should be able to work independently, managing your own workload and be methodical in your approach.
