My client is an international asset management business based in the city looking to hire a funds lawyer on a permanent basis.
Key responsibilities include -
- Investment management: documents the firms relationships with counterparties, clients and intermediaries (e.g. standard and bespoke client terms and conditions and intermediary terms of business; custody and brokerage documentation; platform documentation, office, product and service launches; and (where requested) assets the firms deals with for clients).
- Regulatory advisory resource: gives advice regarding regulatory (FCA) and governance matters, the actions of regulatory bodies, and specific projects e.g. regulatory change, acquisitions, office launches and new business initiatives.
- Disputes: advise, represent, and direct the representation of, the firm in respect of pre-action disputes and legal proceedings; and reviews responses to certain categories of complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction (FOS and Irish and Jersey equivalents).
- Private client: gives advice regarding common issues relevant to the firms client base and the firms approach to them; for example, powers of attorney, trusts and probate issues.
- External legal advice: arranges and supervises the work of external law firms (in accordance with policies and procedures).
A strong candidate should have at least 2 years post qualification experience from a top city law firm or reputable in-house institution.
