Elevate is recruiting for a Process Improvement Manager with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, for a permanent position based in Leeds.

You might be the right person if you:

  • Have the drive, energy and creativity to help lead the process improvement activities in a new Legal Services Centre for a global law firm.
  • Can bring at least 5 years’ process improvement experience in a service environment.
  • Are a certified Lean Sigma Black Belt with a track record of project delivery, programme leadership, training and coaching.
  • Are a creative and process-oriented thinker who is passionate about delivering excellent quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improvement Programme Management
    • Create and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the service centre.
    • Identify and prioritise opportunities to improve process performance and service delivery across all areas of the service centre.
    • Develop and roll out process improvement as an integral part of the service centre’s management system and embed it into team and management meeting structures.
    • Track and report the progress of improvement projects and the delivery of benefits to Elevate and client stakeholders.
    • Coach and mentor Green Belt and Yellow Belt colleagues in the delivery of their improvement projects ensuring they are rigorous in approach and delivery.
    • Create and maintain library of improvement case studies to be used internally with internal and external clients and the legal press.
  • Improvement Project Delivery
    • Identify, plan and deliver complex process improvement projects leading to significant benefits in lead time, cost and service delivery.
    • Identify opportunities for cross-fertilisation of solutions between internal client practices and offices and work with stakeholders to implement these.
    • Work with stakeholders within the client’s wider network, Elevate and the service centre to develop and implement best practices for process improvement activities.


  • Certified Lean Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.
  • 5 years’ process improvement experience in a shared service or professional services environment.
  • Experience of selling the benefits of the continuous improvement approach to a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of leadership and governance of a successful improvement programme.
  • Experience of working in a legal services environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience of building credibility and trust within a diverse and challenging business stakeholder group.

  • Superb project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality of client service.
  • Leadership skills necessary to lead, motivate and develop improvement practitioners who are not direct reports.
  • Experience of driving improvement in the performance of service delivery processes.
  • Resilience under pressure and motivated by accountability and the desire to meet or exceed objectives and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build relationships with legal teams.
  • Comfortable and capable of working proactively in a global organisation.
  • Reliable, meets deadlines and anticipates problems.
  • Takes personal ownership of self-improvement.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.


  • Bachelor's degree, law degree or MBA preferred.
  • Certified Lean Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.
