Junior Level, Trainee

We have been instructed on a new NQ role catered to September 2019 NQs in the Competition team of an elite US Firm in London.

This particular work is more contentious by nature, with an emphasis on arbitration. The team advises on a series of antitrust and compliance matters relating to mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, regulatory compliance and other matters all under a dispute-oriented framework.

The client-base will include some of the leading companies and organisations in an impressive array of industry areas, including the petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, real estate and even entertainment sectors.  Advising clients of this calibre while experiencing high-quality international work will benefit candidates from the perspective of professional development.

The salary on offer is highly lucrative, as the firm’s rates are levelled at the ‘Cravath’ scale, which rewards NQs with a salary of just over £140,000.

Although it may be relatively early in the process, it is advised for September qualifiers to be proactive, and so those who are interested in this role should demonstrate keenness at their soonest to avoid losing out to the rest of the competition (no pun intended).

Candidates must have completed a contentious competition seat at a highly-regarded international firm in London.  A disputes seat would be beneficial – certainly an arbitration-focussed one – but it is not mandatory.
