French Legal Counsel - Leading International Bank in London

We have been instructed to search for a French lawyer to join a leading, global bank based in London. The purpose of the role is to service the bank's French clients in relation to a wide variety of products and business areas including: general loans, corporate / M&A, financial regulation, capital markets and other commercial legal advice.




The successful candidate will support clients on transactions based on French law documents - it is therefore mandatory that applicants have trained in France and are familiar with the French regulatory landscape. However, it is not necessary to be admitted to the Bar or to have a law firm background; candidates who trained within the financial services industry in France are also encouraged to apply.




In terms of technical experience, our client does not expect the new hire to have experience in all of the areas that the role touches on (e.g. banking, corporate, regulatory, capital markets, commercial, etc). They are therefore open to speaking to any French legal counsel who are able to demonstrate solid financial services sector experience in at least one of those disciplines. This would therefore be an ideal opportunity for someone who is quite specialised but is interested in expanding their skill-set and is eager to learn. Our client is ideally looking for someone with between 1 and 5 years' post-qualified experience.
