Our client has a busy Corporate team but to address future succession issues they are keen to recruit an additional senior corporate lawyer, ideally at Partner level or close to. This is a mid-tier firm which is in the Top 200 and so is well established and has a full service offering. Their corporate team is lead by 3 partners, and tackles a broad range of transactional work for owner managed business, in Yorkshire and also further afield, and as a consequence any partner is going to be expected to embrace a mixed client base and workload.

A suitable candidate is likely to have at least 7yrsPQE such as to be experienced in leading corporate transactions at an appropriate level and value. Lateral hires at partner level will definitly be of interest, but also considered will be appointments of lawyers from Senior Associate, Managing Associate or Legal Director backgrounds if such a candidate is wanting partnership prospect and has the technical and commercial skills set. As a partner you'll have visibility internally and also externally, and will be expected to build your profile and client base. Because of the succession element of this piece of recruitment the firm does already have some work available to delegate to you and so any candidate from a larger national brand who isn't confident of a following is still encuraged to apply as this firm can look to bridge that gap in a business case.
