Senior Regulatory Legal Counsel

A fast-paced and entrepreneurial challenger bank is seeking a Senior Regulatory Counsel to join their City based team on a permanent basis. On offer is varied work, the opportunity to be part of an exciting company in growth-mode and ongoing career development.

Supporting the Head of Compliance responsibilities will include:

- leading and developing the regulatory team as the business continues to grow

- managing complex regulatory issues, drafting key regulatory submissions and responses

- acting as a key point of contact for regulators (PRA, FCA, PSR, Bank of England)

- advising senior management on regulatory changes and providing appropriate advice to the wider business

- promoting regulatory awareness

- implementing best practice processes and systems

To be considered for this role you will be 5+ years PQE and qualified in England & Wales. You will have trained in a highly regarded firm and have extensive experience as an FSR Lawyer either in private practice, in-house or with a regulator. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory matters are essential as is your ability to confidently work with senior management.

Understanding of the payment systems, wholesale and retail banking sectors in addition to knowledge of the UK Senior Managers Regime, the Capital Requirements Directive and competition law would be advantageous.
