A huge success story in the fintech sector, our client is now looking to appoint a commercial lawyer to support business development initiatives, including product launch, new market entry and advertising/marketing strategy.

The company is disrupting the banking sector in a big way, and this is an opportunity to be part of their rapidly expanding legal function reporting directly into the General Counsel, and enjoying exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

The culture of the organisation is defined by a proactive, solutions-oriented approach - there is little in the way of bureaucracy, so lawyers are expected to make decisions quickly, deploying a high degree of commercial acumen with the requisite technical nous.  

In a highly commercial role, working closely with commercial colleagues in product, marketing and business development, there is a genuine opportunity to make the role your own and contribute to the shaping of the legal function, as well as determining the manner in which new products are positioned to the market.

The successful candidate is likely to have a minimum of 3 years' PQE, ideally with a period of training at a highly regarded commercial law firm.  You will be comfortable dealing with a wide range of commercial contracts, including marketing, advertising and sponsorship work.  Knowledge of the payments industry or prior experience supporting product development and launch within a tech business is highly desirable.
