If you are currently part of a well-regarded insurance team at either a City or regional firm and would be keen to make the move in house, then this could be an ideal opportunity for you to join this great in house team. Or equally you could currently be working for another insurer or a broker and be looking for a new challenge.
You will work across a range of functional areas in the UK insurance business but in particular you will provide legal support to commercial sales in relation to the UK’s insurance distribution activities. Working as part of a close knit team, it is likely that you will be expected to manage, coach and mentor more junior lawyers or paralegals in turn, and this will all form part of your development and progression.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a regulated Financial services environment and familiarity with the regulatory landscape of insurance and insurance distribution. You will also be expected to draft and negotiate different types of insurance distribution agreements with intermediaries and other third party distributors, so any exposure to relationship management of intermediaries would be very helpful. You will also get involved in drafting and reviewing customer and product literature, whilst also advising on regulatory change. You will be given direct access to the business and be encouraged to form lots of strong relationships with them, so this is an ideal opportunity to work closer with the business and genuinely make a difference to the way the business is ran, supporting a wide range of functional activities (including corporate sales, marketing, product and proposition and procurement) and other strategic partnerships, projects and digital initiatives. Although of course you will undertake lots of work in house, you will also be expected to supervise, co-ordinate and manage external counsel.
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team, that has a clearly defined career structure, yet also can offer a healthy work/life balance.
If you would be keen to discuss the opportunity in more depth, please send your CV in the first instance to kate@hitchenlegal.con, or call on 020 3174 2353.
Please not our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
