You will:

This is a leadership role that will influence and change how we serve the business.

In this role, you will grow our senior advisory capability on all consumer-facing matters, strategically develop the way that we operate and grow the team's overall capability.

- Be at the forefront of Sky's exciting and innovating product plans across our TV, broadband and mobile businesses, advising all levels of those businesses on how to implement their plans in a way which is legally effective, fair and meets our commercial needs.
- Play a role in how Sky responds to the challenges and opportunities presented by regulators such as the ASA, Ofcom and the CMA. Advocating for Sky's interests when responding to regulatory challenges and developing constructive relationships with regulators.
- Be the Lead lawyer for some core Sky products.
- Advise on all consumer-facing matters including all products, marketing and data protection.
- Be the Lead lawyer on some consumer-facing regulatory matters such as responding to Ofcom consultations.
- Manage and develop other lawyers.
- Form part of the leadership team of the Consumer team.


You'll have:

- Qualified Solicitor experience with technical expertise in consumer law including unfair terms, consumer rights, unfair commercial practices, and sales and marketing rules.
- Proven ability to shape and influence commercial decisions through own technical ability and providing practical and implementable advice and options.
- Able to build strong relationships, being recognised and able to influence at Exec and Exec-1 level.
- Good commercial/corporate training with a top law firm or equivalent
- In-house Telecoms and TV experience would be ideal but is not essential. Experience in banking, utilities or another subscription business would suffice.
- Awareness of the media and technology industry including the products and services available on the market.
- Management and people development skills
- Strong communication skills, with a proactive, confident and innovative approach
