Head of Legal

My client is one of the West Midlands leading privately owned businesses.

The Group are seeking a commercially aware, dynamic lawyer as Head of Legal who can demonstrate an attention to detail and can work independently on a broad range of instructions assisting each of the business units

A background within in-house or in private practice will be considered but you must be able to demonstrate commerciality and the capability to advise on a wide range of legal matters, managing and prioritising the workload accordingly. Close attention to detail is essential along with an ability to see the commercial angles and exploit.

The position has an emphasis on real estate matters and therefore candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in drafting and assisting in the negotiation process on the full spectrum of property documents from heads of terms through to agreements for leases, licenses to assign, licences for alterations, deeds of surrender, tenancies at will. Reviewing section 106 agreements and drafting/ amending agreements. Although with a Real Estate prominence the candidate must demonstrate experience in other areas such as commercial contracts, banking agreements, management agreements, Human Resources and Corporate structuring. With litigation common place a "street fighter" ability to put forceful legal points across is a prerequisite.
