Legal Counsel – Banking / FS – Contract – London – up to £400/day

The Client

We are acting for a well-known international investment management firm based in Central London. They are looking for a 1-5PQE lawyer on a 12-18 month contract to support their implementation of a particular regulatory project.

The Role

• Acting as a hybrid lawyer and project manager to support both the legal aspects of the implementation alongside organisational and advisory elements;
• Providing clear and concise legal advice to senior non-legal members of the firm, supporting them throughout the process;
• Interviewing senior managers to understand the legal impacts of the decisions they make; and
• Drafting and negotiating contracts to reflect agreements made in relation to the regulation.

About You

You should:

• Have top law firm training (magic circle, silver circle or white shoe);
• Have experience in either corporate law or financial services regulation;
• Possess excellent contract drafting skills, particularly in relation to advising business decisions; and
• In-house experience in a financial institution (desired, not essential).

This role is ideal for someone looking to work in a well-respected buy-side financial institution on interesting and unique work, whilst continuing an upward career trajectory. Sitting under the Head of Corporate there will be opportunities to move around internally if you impress.
