Job Details
We are looking for a banking or regulatory lawyer to join one of the big retail banks…but this one is one of the more innovative players on the market. Ahead of the curve, open to change, covering new ground – more than competing with the challenger banks and new players in this market. You won’t be bored working within a team that does lots of innovative and funky fin-tech type work. Working on the banking side you will be involved in all the new and exciting developments around consumer banking products, giving valuable legal advice. A lot of responsibility is given to everyone on the team, so you can expect to deal with different characters in the business and should be able to deliver messages that they may not want to hear. You need to think commercially and be focused on solutions.
Ideally you would be relatively junior with 6 months to 3 years’ experience under your belt. Promotion and prospects are good for someone at this level. We’re looking for someone with retail focused regulatory and products experience. You should know your way around the FCA handbook. Knowledge of payment services regulations and open banking would be great.
But…we appreciate that this skill set is hard to come by, certainly at the junior level, so we will consider bright lawyers with an appetite to expand on their current experience. You could be currently working in a general lending, commercial or financial services team in a good law firm. Or you could be working at the regulator, or more on the commercial banking side. We’re looking for that real drive, eagerness and enthusiasm to join a massively growing team that is being invested in. You will be offered training and support from senior lawyers who are the best in the business.
