Head of Legal - 7+PQE - Berkshire

As a member of the legal leadership team, you will be responsible for translating legal issues and vision; quickly building relationships with shareholders and effectively delivering commercially savvy legal advice, minimising company risk. You will also work on short and long-term business needs specific to the company's projects, initiatives and strategic growth whilst addressing a wide range of commercial property transactions and property dispute litigation issues.

The position is based in Berkshire.

You will:

• Lead on business processes and review of business processes to drive efficiencies.
• Provide legal advice with respect to the delivery of commercial and regulatory decisions.
• Manage key property site provider agreements and other commercial transactions to include negotiations, working broadly across the legal team and with external advisors.
• Have experience in property litigation, to include working with external law firms to provide strategic advice to stakeholders with respect to key decisions relating to litigious property dispute matters.
• Proficient in your knowledge of the Landlord & Tenants Act / Access issues.
• Manage and provide coaching, mentoring and training to direct reports.
• Manage team performance and team objectives.
• Work closely with General Counsel and the Executive Legal Team to deliver cross functional collaboration and organizational delivery of key initiatives and company vision.

You must have:

• Previous experience of supervising, mentoring and training staff.
• A natural ability to deal with people across the business at all levels.
• Confidence in your ability to deliver expert legal advice.
• A desire to imbed yourself into a company's operations and a willingness to engage in the commitment of this company's future vision and the delivery of its service.
• The requisite experience upon which you can broadly work across key commercial contract negotiations and litigation with respect to commercial property and property litigation disputes.
• Worked previously in a reputable law firm or a combination of both a law firm and in-house.
• Be a UK qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 7 years' experience.
