Privacy Counsel - EMEA - Luxembourg

A globally acclaimed US blue-chip company requires a privacy lawyer with 5yrs PQE to join its European Privacy team which advises the business EMEA activity. You will report to EMEA Head of Privacy who advises on diverse digital and innovative businesses products and services. You liaise with customers and data protection experts across EMEA to best educate senior management on their data management strategies and compliance needs.

This role requires you to focus on their customers; both commercial organizations and public sector agencies, as well as partners. The ideal candidate will have technical experience and knowledge of innovative data protection & privacy with the ability to leverage a wide existing network within the EMEA region. You will need experience of working with or consulting on compliance programs and initiatives and be well versed in national and European policy standards, working groups, initiatives, and emerging guidance relating to data protection and data privacy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working successfully in a very fast-paced, results-oriented environment with a track history of delivery of IT process improvement projects with complex processes and/or major tech companies.

Must have 5+ yrs of professional experience, least two years of which was gained from an international law firm, in privacy/data protection security implementation and policy or regulatory affairs. Must be EU qualified (France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain or The UK and Ireland) with the ability to draft complex legal briefs in business level English, French and German language skills would be advantageous.

Additional experience of data protection consulting or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment would be advantageous.
