In-house Finance Counsel, 6+ PQE
ETC Search is an independent boutique consultancy solely focused on the energy, trade and commodities sectors. This perspective enables us to source the most talented corporate infrastructure professionals, with a particular emphasis on legal and compliance.
Our client is a privately-owned institution of over 50 years standing, based in Geneva. They sit at the heart of commodity flows and are involved in sourcing, distributing and trading commodity products. They operate from over 30 locations worldwide and with employees from 40 plus different nationalities their diversity helps to continue their success.
The successful candidate will have a varied workload predominantly focused on financing the group’s activities.
This is an ideal first in-house role for someone as there is support from other team members and full training will be provided.
This will include but is not limited to drafting and negotiation of finance documents, structuring transactions, managing disputes, advising senior members of the business on “live” issues and liaising with external advisers and counsel.
The ideal candidate will likely come from a banking or project finance team at a top UK or US law firm. No energy or commodities experience is necessary for this role but an enthusiasm for the sector will be helpful!
Structured finance experience is a plus, particularly if commodities related.
You will be Common or Civil law qualified with 6+ PQE and an ability to work autonomously whilst still being part of a wider global team.
In-house experience on a secondment or permanent basis is a plus.
