Senior Corporate Lawyer – FinTech business – Global Brokerage House 5 years+

We are partnering with a long-standing and truly global brokerage company that sits at the cutting edge of the technology sector.  This company offers the full range of brokerage services (voice, hybrid, electronic) across the financial services and real estate markets, as well as offering innovative financial technology solutions, and providing market data and analytics.

Our client has acquired numerous FinTech businesses over the years.  Now the time has come to reorganise and consolidate these businesses bringing them under one roof.

This is an unusual and exciting role that requires a bright, commercially-minded lawyer who is able to holistically take a view at the overall business and bring this project to successful completion.

The role will primarily involve:

• Working closely with the project manager to analyse the FinTech businesses and put a strategic plan in place;
• Instructing and working with external counsel across Europe and Asia with regards to setting up new entities, entity transfers, TUPE, IP and compliance matters.

Once in the role you will enjoy regular interaction with senior business people and management across the front and back office.  As this is a highly visible role involving matters of strategic importance, we require someone who can operate with absolute discretion and confidentiality.

This role would suit a self-starter who likes to take ownership of their work, and enjoys working autonomously in a fast paced environment.

We are looking for someone with:

• Corporate experience, ideally including experience in reorganisations;
• Experience of working in the financial services or technology sectors.

We are open to both UK or Commonwealth qualified lawyers with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE.  This is a 12 month fixed term contract, with a view to being extended or even made permanent for the right candidate.
