A globally acclaimed SaaS provider based in Dublin's Silicone Docks is experiencing rapid growth across EMEA, which has created an opportunity for a senior Privacy Lawyer to act as the leading EU privacy counsel to the business. As Head of Privacy for EMEA operations, you will focus on liaising with customers and data protection experts across EMEA to best educate senior management on their data management strategies.
This role requires you to report to the Global Head of Privacy and to focus on advising the business leaders and key departments on the implementation of their privacy strategy. In addition you will focus on global marketing, procurement, HR, product & Sales teams and the compliance team on corporate governance relating to GDPR. The ideal candidate will have technical experience and knowledge of innovative data protection & privacy with the ability to leverage a wide existing network within the EMEA region. You will need experience of working with or consulting on compliance programs and initiatives and be well versed in national and European policy standards, working groups, initiatives, and emerging guidance relating to data protection and data privacy.
Must have a minimum of 6+ years PQE in privacy/data protection, be UK or Common Law background with either CIPP or CIPM qualification. Additional experience of data protection consulting or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment would be advantageous. Must be a well-regarded professional within an existing network of data protection professionals and or authorities. Experience of SaaS, IaaS or PaaS would be highly advantageous but not essential. Must be an energetic personality who can build trust and enjoys sharing knowledge with colleagues. It's essential that candidates are pragmatic with the ability to apply to quickly identify risks and apply commercial solutions and sound legal advice for when possible complex legal issues arise.
