UK Head of Legal (Regulatory)- Significant Broker

Are you a Financial Services Regulatory lawyer who punches considerably above your PQE?  This role could allow you to monetise your blend of technical and commercial skills.

The Client:

Our client is a major financial broker with an asset class spread aimed at catering to commodities sector clients' investments, trading and hedging requirements.  With an established General Counsel acting as trusted advisor to their executive team, they are now in the market for a Regulatory Lawyer to take on a Head of Legal role, managing their Legal Department.

The Role:

Reporting to the GC (who is also CF10), you will take on a broad role managing two other lawyers and working as a key advisor to the business dealing with regulatory queries, implementation projects and regulatory aspects of their trading activities around CASS, MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd Frank etc, managing their on-going response to Brexit and providing input to the firm's CASS and regulatory capital structure.  You will also advise on issues relating to trading of securities such as jurisdictional short-selling restrictions.

As a business operating within a limited activity license and in the traded products space, working within the regulatory regime and ensuring a policy of strict adherence is observed but that opportunities are not squandered through an over-cautious approach.  

The Candidate:

The successful candidate is likely to bring between 2-6 years' PQE gained at least in part in a Magic or Silver Circle firm.  Exposure to black-letter advisory regulation is essential.  Experience in the traded products space would also be beneficial.
