PRIVATE FUNDS ASSOCIATE - 4+ PQE - LONDON

Our client is a highly regarded US law firm with a significant London office which has a clear focus on asset managers. Its is looking to recruit a mid to senior level Funds Lawyer (from 4 PQE upwards) to add to their existing team. In brief, their funds practice is highly ranked in all the main directories. The private funds group offers the complete package of services to its funds and investor clients with specialisms including tax, ERISA, regulation, fund finance, employment, litigation and risk management. The London office advises across all asset classes on a full range of matters, and its lawyers act as business partners to their clients. The team also has a wide variety of expertise in dealing with the complexities involved in structuring and negotiating secondary transactions and fund restructurings.

As the ideal candidate at the mid to more senior level, you will be practising inside a well-regarded funds practice and have a strong desire to expand on the knowledge you gained during your career to date into a more client facing role; one where you will have significant opportunities to mentor the more junior members of the team. You will be expected to have a solid track record in client work, although the firm is not closing its mind to people who do not operate from the firms in the very top tiers. You will have a strong academic background (although again this hire isn't based on a "what was the university?") and will possess, alongside your strong legal skills, further attributes such as being a strong team-worker, having a desire to learn and a solid work ethic which will stand you in good stead allowing you to grow into a senior role: prospects are excellent! This really is an exciting opportunity in the Funds space to join a top tier practice at the top of its game. It will be important to demonstrate all the above and also a strong desire to join this practice - it receives interest from many candidates - those that stand out are not necessarily always those from the highest paying US law firms or the Magic Circle.
