International Arbitration PSL 5+ PQE

This City firm is looking to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to deliver the full range of know-how and training services to support their global international arbitration group.  The group specialise in cross-border, multi-jurisdictional and complex international disputes across a range of sectors including energy and natural resources, marine, infrastructure, trade and commodities and insurance. They are adept at conducting large scale arbitrations all over the world, irrespective of the governing law, the arbitral rules or the language of the arbitration.

As a PSL in the team you will be responsible for:

• Creation of content on key legal and commercial topics relevant to the practice area for publication in legal and other press;
• Preparation of content for presentations at conferences, client training and other fora on a variety of arbitration and related topics;
• Assisting in business development initiatives including drafting text for client guides and brochures;
• Creating and maintaining precedents, templates and process maps
• Assessing and establishing the best practice approach to the different stages of dispute matters - Playing an integral role in the support of the global arbitration practice in conjunction with other PSLs worldwide, with a focus on global documentation and streamlining;
• Providing input on, and support for, the configuration of new technology in support of the international arbitration team
• Identifying and sharing knowledge including key legal and commercial developments relevant to the international arbitration groups through internal updates, intranet, team meetings and training sessions;
• Identifying training needs within the international arbitration group and delivering or arranging appropriate training as well as involvement in the delivery of the trainee induction programme;
• Managing the arbitration library, arbitration resources and relevant intranet content including knowledge database.

The role is varied and interesting and would suit someone who is looking for an alternative to fee earning.  To be considered for the role you will have gained at least have five years' post qualification experience with a leading UK law firm with a strong reputation in the international arbitration practice area.   You will have a genuine interest in International Arbitration  law, with an intellectually rigorous approach to difficult issues.  Prior PSL experience is desirable, but not essential.
