Banking Lawyer 2+ PQE *Elite New York Firm*
This white-shoe New York firm has an opening in their market leading finance practice for an associate. Cross-border financing transactions are a staple for the group and the group is regularly ranked in the top tier for banking and financing advice to Sponsors in Chambers UK. Whilst its bread and butter work is acquisition and leveraged finance, it is regularly engaged in all forms of debt financing and restructuring transactions and is especially renowned for its ability to devise innovative solutions to novel scenarios. This requires its lawyers to have the ability to think outside the box, take ownership of transactions and be organised.
You will join the banking group in London where you will undertake a wide variety of work reflecting the spectrum of the group's practice. Working within a small and close-knit team, you will have the chance to work on market leading, high profile, cross-border transactions, advising both financial institutions and borrower clients from around the world. You will be regularly exposed to clients from the start and will be encouraged to market to those clients to build the firm's relationship. You will also be expected to prepare and deliver seminars to members of the group, other practice groups and clients. There is no rigid development path: as your seniors feel you are ready, you will be asked to tackle the next challenge. Your development is as key to the group as it is to you.
You will have between 2 and 4 years' relevant post qualification experience in the London market (or experience in a similar common law jurisdiction) with a highly rated banking practice. The firm expects its lawyers to have plenty of enthusiasm and an ability to work to demanding timetables for very demanding and clever clients.
If you are someone who is in need of a fresh challenge working within smaller teams without compromising the quality of work, then this is the firm you will want to join. Their salaries are also some of the best in the market.
