Our client is one of the largest TV networks in the MENA region. It is the first private free-to-air satellite broadcasting company in the Middle-Eastern world and provides multiple channels of information, interaction and entertainment.

The business has set up a new division which will focus solely on film content. They have brought in a senior commercial executive to act as MD from one of the top US studios in the world. Their strategy is to focus on making and distributing "Hollywood" style movies using western talent (as well as writers, producers and actors) to develop titles with Arabic or Saudi themes and content. This new and exciting commercial venture has significant funding and looks to connect with a global audience.

As a result of this venture, the organisation needs a dedicated film lawyer to join the team. You will work closely with the new MD advising on film deals from development through to production and on-site filming. You will also work with the residing legal team who look after other areas of the business.

This role is a new position and a significant hire. For this reason you will need to have a minimum of 5-6 years' PQE and you must have a film background. This is non-negotiable as they require the in-house expertise and knowledge on the ground from day one. You will be comfortable working on film projects alongside writers, producers, talent and directors. You will be competent in advising on the film finance and structuring side, as well as support on the drafting and negotiation of writers agreements, talent agreements, location agreements etc.

You could be a lawyer currently based in any part of the world who is keen to experience life in Dubai. You will be part of an exciting new project where you have a great deal of involvement and autonomy.
