Competition Counsel – 5 years’ pqe+ - South Yorkshire - Fantastic team and culture!

We are seeking a strong competition lawyer for our client; a FTSE 150 organisation with an award-winning legal team. As a key member of the legal team and reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel, this role will partner closely with key stakeholders to provide strategic, pragmatic and commercial specialist legal advice to the business on all areas of competition law, regulation and related matters of public law and government affairs. This includes managing legal risk and reputation, for example during competition law and regulatory investigations and litigation.

Key accountabilities include; act as the principle advisor on all competition law and regulatory issues, providing strategic and pragmatic advice on all contracts and bespoke deals (including all key contractual relationships) as well as manage the company’s defence of investigations brought by regulators (either under competition law or regulation). This includes managing internal stakeholders and external advisors efficiently and effectively to ensure the best possible outcome for the company; and reporting to senior executives on developments with the investigation.  

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ PQE with excellent communication skills. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude with a proactive approach to taking on new projects and challenges; and identifying opportunities to manage competition and regulatory risk within the business.
