IP / IT LITIGATION SOLICITOR 2-6 PQE - MANCHESTER
IP/IT Litigation Solicitor - an exciting role has arisen within the intellectual property team of this expanding national firm. The Manchester office already boasts an established department and advises on a range of contentious and non-contentious work. The firm is now looking to further strengthen the practice area with a lateral hire who will focus on a range of IP/IT litigation.

- Reports to: Partner
- Previous Experience: Solicitors with proven experience of IP/IT Litigation. This is a specialised area of law where the pool of potential candidates is more limited. Therefore, the firm will potentially consider candidates from a more general commercial litigation background. However, candidates should have had at least some experience to IP/IT litigation.
AN UNPARALLELED MIX OF WORK
The team advises on what is possibly the most impressive breadth of work in Manchester - Anything from copyright, passing off and trademark disputes to complex patent infringement. The department are also instructed on high-value IT disputes which can involve anything from software license disputes to large and intricate IT outsourcing and data sharing arrangements.
Not surprisingly, in a world where IP and IT are regarded as valuable business assets, many of the firm's clients see the protection of their rights in this area as fundamental. Clients operate in a myriad of sectors from retail to telecoms, from manufacturing to outsourcing. Many of them are recognised names. However, Manchester is also home to a rapidly expanding digital, media and creative community and the firm is also involved in various start-up projects.
The firm is looking for a proven litigator with a strong IP/IT background. They are also looking for 'commercial' lawyers who are truly able to spot the key issues in a given scenario and find the best solution whether it be renegotiating a given problem contract or pursuing litigation where absolutely necessary.
Candidates should be bright, proactive and possess a keen sense of client service. Ideally, they should have a large national or 'top tier' background. Given the specialist nature of this area of expertise, the firm will also consider those wishing to relocate.
