Your new role
A mid-level asset finance orientated legal position reporting to the General Counsel as part of a team of five lawyers in a flat structure. The bulk of the role will focus on shipping finance matters, including negotiating and drafting key loan documentation, charterparty agreements, shipbuilding contracts, joint venture agreements and other varied and complex sector specific agreements. You will also support the team on corporate transactions (including but not limited to capital markets and private equity raising issues). Further, you will gain exposure to company secretarial matters, while also building relationships with other areas of the business as a trusted advisor.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK qualified lawyer from a reputable City law firm, and at least five years' PQE (as a guide only). You will have strong asset finance experience, with a preference for shipping finance transactions. You will have gained excellent academics and will come with an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset. You will be excited at working in a fast-paced international role as part of a collegiate, experienced team and you will be interested in contributing to legal matters outside of shipping and asset finance. You will have an adaptable personality, able to manage stakeholders at all levels, and a pleasant but robust approach to problem-solving.
