A renewable energy industry leader, who provide cleaner, more reliable and more affordable energy to society, is looking for an In House Legal Counsel - Commercial. This renewable energy business has a presence across many countries and encompasses onshore and offshore wind turbine design, manufacturing and installation as well as cutting-edge service solutions.

The In House Legal Counsel - Commercial Role

This role will provide support to the relevant business partners (Onshore, Offshore and Service teams) including sales, procurement and tendering teams, and counselling the business partners on a wide range of legal topics. You will ensure effective legal risk management when reviewing, drafting and negotiating Turbine Supply Agreement, Service and Warranty Agreements by addressing legal risks and opportunities while applying a legal and entrepreneurial perspective.

The Commercial Lawyer will advise the business on internal rules and governance processes and support them to obtain internal approvals and ensure internal governance is adhered to prior to submission of tenders and during customer negotiations. Some of your other tasks will include but not be limited to:

- Managing and mitigating risks by analysing the contractual position and set the right strategy in order to achieve the best possible result for the business;
- Supporting the business advising on contract interpretation and developing strategies for, and resolving major claims and disputes;
- Cooperating with colleagues in other jurisdictions and sharing knowledge internally by providing in-depth legal training to the business and colleagues in the legal community;
- Advising on a range of ancillary issues and documents, such as bonds, guarantees and direct agreements.

The Person

- Qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
- At least 2 years PQE within an international business or law firm.
- You will have had focus on complex international project business, construction, engineering or other infrastructure projects, claim management and/ or arbitration.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to deal confidently and build strong relations with senior business colleagues.
