Job Details


Role Accountabilities:

    • Lead and oversee the legal affairs for affiliates in Mature Markets
    • Embed Compliance Culture across all Regions of the business
    • Ensure Legal Function(s) strictly adopt a culture of ethics and compliance; leading by example and appropriately challenging non-compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies relating to Ethics and Compliance standards and interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) and Patient Organisations (POs).
    • Define legal support strategy for Mature Markets in coordination with Executive Director, Affiliate Support.
    • Budget responsibility for legal affairs for Mature Markets
    • In time, oversee, hires and develop team of in-country affiliate leads
    • Provide strategy, leadership, oversight and coordination of all general commercial legal matter
    • Effective leadership in identifying, preventing, minimizing, mitigating and/or resolving affiliate legal risks
    • Assist and advise senior management on legal and compliance risks
    • Crisis management
    • Distribution, Licensing & Local Manufacturing Agreements and other necessary contractual support
    • Prevention and resolving of disputes, managing of commercial litigation
    • Pricing & market access incl. health technology assessments
    • Product launches and life-cycle management support
    • Supply chain and tender management support
    • Setting up of new entities
    • Export Control and Sanction
    • Ensure timely reporting of legal matters to regional senior management and business clients
    • Collaborate closely with other specialist legal functions
    • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and boards of directors/governance committees of supported entitie
    • Lead and support strategic projects (EMEA and Global
    • Dotted line to new global Legal Head of Litigation and Investigation, supporting local litigation and investigations in the EMEA region
    • Work closely with other legal cluster and affiliate lead
    • Work closely with Ethics & Compliance tea
    • Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently


Required Experience:

    • Law degre
    • Qualified lawyer with significant post qualified experienc
    • Proven track record of handling of general commercial matters within a pharmaceutical compan
    • Knowledge and understanding of key business, legal and compliance issues within pharma and life science industry including emerging market
    • Experience in Licensing, Supply and Distributio
    • Experience in leading multi-functional, cross-cultural team
    • Experience in setting up affiliate
    • Proven leadership and people management experience including commitment to develop, coach and enable high performance standards
    • Proven ability to influence diverse senior stakeholders
    • Fluent in written and verbal business Englis
    • Track-record of leading multi-year strategic planning process: strategic, organizational and problem-solving history to deliver sustained results
    • Proven healthcare compliance expertise; to understand and comply with industry laws and regulations
    • Strong experience and knowledge of best practices in the pharmaceutical industry
    • Experience in presenting to senior and executive management
