Your new role

The Regulatory Counsel will be responsible for advising the company on all legal compliance and regulatory issues and their application and impact on the global Group. This will include support and development of the internal compliance and risk assessment programmes. The key areas of focus within the role will be bribery and corruption, global trade sanctions, export control, anti-trust issues and money laundering, in each case as they apply to the business of the Group. The role will also extend to providing guidance on human rights, modern slavery, the facilitation of tax evasion, and other relevant regulatory legal issues. The role will assist the Compliance Director and General Counsel in the discharge of these responsibilities to the business, identifying practical solutions to complex legal issues, advising on contractual matters where they pertain to these areas, assisting in the design and implementation of relevant controls, assisting in M&A activity, developing policy and procedures for local, regional or group-wide implementation and investigating allegations that give rise to legal and regulatory concerns. The role may also from time to time require the Regulatory Counsel to cover elements of the broad range of general legal advisory work usual in a head office environment and assist other members of the legal team on M&A, JVs and other corporate and commercial activity, together with other specific projects detailed by the General Counsel. The Senior Regulatory Counsel's key internal clients for this purpose will be the senior management of the business, including the Chief Executive, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief HR Officer. The post will require significant interaction with the in-house legal team, external legal counsel and other advisers across all jurisdictions, as the Group's legal specialist in this area of practice.
