Tutor for our Business Law module – Guildford
The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK’s largest law schools. With an impressive history going back to 1876, we employ c.680 staff and attract over 7000 students to study on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. ULaw has an outstanding reputation as a full service legal and educational training specialist, operating from 11 campuses throughout England with additional global reach through online and face to face provision.
Our employability statistics are enviably high. (97% of our 2017 full time LPC students secured employment/further education within 9 months of graduation) which is reflected in ULaw’s reputation for producing lawyers and barristers with genuine business and commercial acumen. We also deliver an LLB which has received outstandingly strong reviews in the National Student Survey.
We currently have the following vacancy for a Tutor to teach on our Business Law module.
We are looking to recruit an additional tutor; a qualified solicitor with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our campuses, primarily teaching on our LPC, GDL and LLB programmes.
Please note that classes are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.
This post is based at our Guildford campus, however a willingness to teach for part of the week at our Reading campus would be an advantage.
To apply for this role it is essential you have a 2:1 degree in any subject (or equivalent) and be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans.
Please visit our website www.law.ac.uk/about/job-vacancies for a full job description, person specification and application form. Please email your completed application form to work@law.ac.uk.
Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.
For an informal discussion about the role please email Sarah Pooley, Associate Professor and Dean (Guildford & Reading) – sarah.pooley@law.ac.uk
No agencies please.
Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.
