Private Client - Locum - Hampshire

Private Client locum required by my client in Hampshire. This role is expected to go on for 3 months while the firm recruits perm.


Probate - Including grants of administration and limited grants
* Taking instructions and advising on all aspects of the administration.
* Advising as to the possibly of a variation of the will/intestacy and advising re IHT, IT, CGT.
* Preparation of deeds of variation and registering (only when necessary).
* Establishing the assets and liabilities, computing tax and raising IHT.
* Drafting forms of oath and Inland Revenue Account.
* Consideration of Capital Gains Tax Issues and if relevant, appropriating at the best time.
* Obtaining the grant and administering the estate.
* Preparation of draft estate accounts when the grant has issued or sooner.
* Interim distributions.
* Obtaining IHT clearance.
* Preparation of final estate accounts and distribution.
* Advising the personal representatives /beneficiaries throughout.
* Intestacy
* Contentious probate

* Taking instructions and advising on tax planning and other issues.
* Drafting wills that may include complex trusts, for instance, nil-band trusts, accumulation and maintenance trusts and powers of appointment.
* Drafting any allied documents such as notices of severance, declarations of trust.
* Effecting any severance of joint tenancy for unregistered land.

Tax, Trusts & Lifetime Settlements:
* Creation of lifetime/will trusts: discretionary trusts, bereaved minor's trusts, life interest trusts, disabled beneficiary trusts, also declarations of trust
* Administration of trusts, including nil rate band discretionary trusts, (charges/IOUs), investment in conjunction with IFAs and stockbrokers, trust accounts
* Termination of trusts
* Taxation in respect of trusts: income tax, CGT and IHT - advice and tax returns
* Establishing the correct vehicle for the client's objectives such as tax mitigation, family protection.
* Drafting deeds of appointment and retirement of trustees.
* Advising on tax aspects.
* Preparation of any other supporting documents such as letter of wishes.
* Registering with the Inland Revenue.
* Experience of trust accounts and administration.
* Completing trust tax returns,
* Preparation of tax deduction certificates.
* Determination of trusts and drafting requisite documentation.
LPAs and Office of the Public Guardian
* Taking instructions for and drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney
