The Opportunity

To allow the company to do what is needs to do, it needs excellent legal support. With a new focus on its European business from its headquarters in West London, a new role now exists for a Senior Counsel. In this role, you will take responsibility for a wide range of commercial agreements as well advising on compliance and regulatory matters, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance. Licensing, sales agreements and distribution agreements and tenders on both a European and global basis will all form part of your remit. In addition, you will play a key role in support the UK business on company law matters, including managing board meetings and providing support to corporate decisions and actions (an excellent opportunity to gain key experience usually required for General Counsel positions.

About You 

A strong corporate/commercial contracts background in the pharmaceutical sector is key. You may already be an in-house lawyer in a pharmaceutical or life sciences business looking to take a step up, or you might be a corporate/commercial lawyer in private practice who acts for life sciences companies. A global mindset and the ability to develop relationships across a global business is key. You will need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability and the ability to work in a varied in-house role. Strong communication skills are also essential. This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and a General Counsel skill-set with a long-standing pharmaceutical company in a new era for the business in a number two position in the UK legal team.
