An instantly recognisable and popular household brand name is seeking a 3 - 6 PQE Commercial Lawyer to join the team as Legal Counsel at their Head Office in Milton Keynes.

The Business

The business has undergone a significant transformation in the past 12 months and is now looking to expand its experienced legal team as they seek targeted growth in the sector. Backed by a new owner and a versatile board on which the Head of Legal has a key input, the business represents an exciting, fast-paced opportunity where the right lawyer could really mark their mark.

The Role

The Legal Counsel reports directly to the Head of Legal and will advise all areas of the business, providing both legal and commercial input to the various teams including regulatory, marketing and sales. Under the guidance of a highly regarded Head, Legal has become an increasingly important cog in the business due to internal changes and growth plans, so the role will be highly collaborative and fast-paced due to the challenging yet exciting sector.

The key element to this Legal Counsel position will be negotiating, drafting and reviewing high value commercial contracts, but there is also the opportunity to get involved in advertising matters, IP, regulatory, contentious work, data protection matters and competition law.

The Person

You will be a 3 - 6 PQE commercial lawyer (although there is flexibility on this) looking for a fast-paced, dynamic working environment which will allow you to have a key impact on the future success of a major retailer. Experience in retail would be advantageous but not necessary providing you possess strong commercial contracts skills. Stakeholder management is also a key part, as is the confidence and ability to provide quick, succinct legal advice to key management.
