We have an opportunity for a Commercial/Procurement lawyer in a Central Government Department.
Main duties and responsibilities include:

Contentious - Litigation: working as part of a team on high value contract disputes.
Non-Contentious � working in procurement law, for example framework agreements and contracts. Successful management of complex high value cases.
Ability to deal with complex public law cases. Ability to work to deadlines. Provide legal and policy advice to clients.
Displays an understanding of the resourcing requirements of own cases.
Displays an understanding of the context the client operates in.
Displays the professional attitude that client and company expect from a member of an organisation with a high reputation.
Responds to reasonable client requests including agreeing achievable and realistic actions, timescales etc.
Keeps abreast of legal developments and current thinking on related policy issues.

You will be working in London as part of a friendly, collaborative team of lawyers based in London, although some remote working is permissible
. You need good Legal Professional Skills, including the following essential requirements:
* reliable legal judgement and appreciation of legal risk
* sound analysis of issues, using secure legal research
* making evidence based decisions
* managing a quality service for clients Commercial experience will be required although it is not necessary to have experience in all areas of the team's work as noted in the bullets above. Experience in facilities management or property work will be valuable although again, this is not essential. You need good IT skills (word/excel/outlook). You need to have good self-awareness and a commitment to using feedback to learn and develop as a profession
