Operations Legal, Vice President – Tier 1 Investment Bank

Our client, a tier 1 investment bank, is look for an experience lawyer to provide support to the operations division, including network management which is responsible for managing relationships with custodians and financial market infrastructure entities. The role partners with business lines throughout the bank and provides exposure to a wide range of product areas.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support in relation to the negotiation, review and updating of custody agreements and ancillary documentation 
  • Review and assist in negotiating market infrastructure documentation
  • Maintain relevant documentation templates and policies
  • Advise on client asset and client money rules, including participation in relevant governance forums
  • Provide legal advice to the due diligence teams
  • Advice and support in relation to legal, regulatory and client relationship matters, working with compliance and relevant legal teams
  • Provide legal advice in the context of UK withdrawal from the EU and the implementation of the Firm’s future operating model
  • Support the Operations division on legal and regulatory issues
  • Advise on legal and regulatory change relating to custody, financial market infrastructure and operations generally;
  • Work with lawyers in other jurisdictions and relevant coverage lawyers in relation to operations legal issues;
  • Review legal advice prepared by local counsel as required, working with coverage lawyers to resolve issues.
  • Depending on business requirements/candidate’s skill set there may also be opportunities to become involved in the wider work of the team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years PQE at an international law firm or in-house
  • Experience in custody / settlement / market infrastructure matters
