In-house Legal Counsel, global technology lead

Arbuthnot Yon has been instructed exclusively on opportunity with a global engineering business seeking to appoint an IT lawyer or commercial lawyer with good IT experience to join an established legal team as the global lead lawyer for technology related legal issues.

Our client is a large multi-national employing over 40,000 people globally and with a turnover of over £20bn.  Forming part of a large established in-house team, an opportunity has arisen to join as the lead technology lawyer for the global Group.   Working closely with business colleagues you will lead on both internal and external technology projects: 

• Internal projects would involve – advising on global outsourcing, working closely with global procurement, advising on cyber security issues, advising on IT disputes (with support from litigation specialist if required) and drafting and negotiating general technology related agreements.
• External projects would involve – drafting and negotiating technology related agreements with external customers and advising on any legal issues arising out of technology related matters.
• You would also have the opportunity to get involved in general commercial and IP related legal matters.

If you are an IT specialist or commercial lawyer with good IT experience gained in a top tier law firm or leading in-house business then do get in touch.  We would expect that the successful candidate will have at least 5 years PQE and we are also very keen to hear from more experienced lawyers.
